Overview
In PebblePad ATLAS, assignments can be setup to have pre-defined deadlines for each. This article explains how to setup and apply an extension to a student(s), such as in the event of extenuating circumstances and the deadline is to be amended for them for a given time.
Setup and apply an extension
- Login to PebblePad > ATLAS and navigate to the relevant workspace.
- Select Management > Assignments.
- Hover over the icons to the right of the assignment you want to setup an extension for a student(s). Select the icon that says ‘Manage extensions’ in the middle of the group of icons.
- Select the ‘Add new extensions’ button.
- Update the number where it says ‘Extend all deadline dates by’. Notice the amended deadline information changes to reflect this on the right of the page.
- Filter the student(s) you want to provide an extension for.
- Select the checkbox next to the student(s) you want to provide an extension for.
- Notice the radio selection asking if you would like to notify the student(s) by email of their new deadline. This is up to you if suitable.
- Sometimes selecting Yes here could cause some confusion unless at least followed up with an additional email to let the student know what this means. E.g. if the title of the workspace and assignment isn’t clear.
- Select the Save button at the bottom of the page.
- You can review and update existing extensions by getting to step 3 above.
