Modifying permissions (in PebblePad) so that submissions are anonymous

Overview

When setting up a workspace in PebblePad ATLAS, the permissions for assessors can be updated so that submissions are anonymous.

Applying the following settings will anonymize the name of the author for the assessment submission via the submissions tab in ATLAS.

Updating these permissions will apply to all assignments for all assets submitted within the workspace.

Setting the permissions

  1. Go to the ATLAS workspace you would like to anonymize the submissions for.
  2. Select Management.
  3. Select Managers.
  4. Select Modify permissions.
  5. Scroll down to the section titled Anonymity then uncheck the boxes for ‘View author details’. Here you can unselect the checkboxes to anonymize for each of the roles for lead tutor, tutor, and moderator.
  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press save.

Any content within a submitted asset will not be anonymous. Therefore this setup is not completely full proof. Careful consideration should be made if creating a resource template that will be submitted to a workspace that’s meant to be anonymous – it’s recommended to make it clear within the template that to maintain anonymity, the user should avoid adding their name in any of the text fields. Also for example if a template requests for a signature, this will still show and will not be anonymous.
