Overview
Unfortunately, the Mentimeter plugin does not seem to work smoothly with the current version of Microsoft PowerPoint that we have at the University, therefore, we do not recommend using these tools together, but separately. For more information about our investigation with the plugin, please contact Digital Education.
We understand it can be confusing and difficult to swap between windows during your in-class lecture/seminar, therefore, our suggestion would be to re-create one of your Microsoft PowerPoint presentations into a Mentimeter presentation as Mentimeter also allows you to display static and not just interactive content in an aesthetic way. Before you do this, please carefully consider which of your presentations you would like to convert, as the goal is not to stop using Microsoft PowerPoint completely, but to use these tools appropriately by paying great attention to their purpose and the learning objectives you defined under your module. As such, a new blog article will be available shortly in which we suggest which tool to be used for which purpose.
We also understand that you might not have the initial time to convert some of your presentations from PowerPoint to Mentimeter, therefore, we would recommend selecting the most important one under your module which you can transfer. You can then use this material for testing purposes to see what your students actually think about this new practice and therefore if they are more engaged and motivated, you can then keep re-building your other presentations during the next academic years
