Scales are a way of evaluating or rating a students’ performance. Scales may be used in Forums, Glossaries and Assignments for rating and/or grading a student’s activity.

  1. Please sign in to your DLE/Moodle account and select the course where you would like to add a scale.
  2. On the course page, please select ‘Grades’ from the secondary navigation bar.

How to attach your scale to a submission point

Once the scale is created or you wish to use an already existing scale (e.g. ‘Pass’/’Fail’), you will need to create a submission point in the DLE. In the settings, you will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Please navigate to the ‘Grade’ section and change the grade ‘Type’ from ‘Point’ to ‘Scale’.
