A copy will be stored on the University’s DLE. However, if the ‘Store Student Papers’ setting is set to ‘Standard Repository’ (see picture below), there will also be a copy held on Turnitin’s server. This is so that it can be cross-checked against newer uploads to ensure against any plagiarism of work. If students are using separate assignments for draft and final submissions, it is recommended that the setting is set to ‘No Repository’ to ensure that students don’t receive a ‘match’ with their own previous work. Similarly, if you run an assignment where a marking or information sheet is required in the submission, you may wish to select the ‘No Repository’ option to prevent this from creating matches.
