Mentimeter in Teams

The Mentimeter app brings interactive polls, quizzes, word clouds and Q&A activities into Teams meetings. Participants can respond directly within Teams without needing to leave the meeting or enter a separate code, making it easy to engage students and gather instant feedback.

Please note students must be using the Teams desktop app to be able to interact with presentations via the Mentimeter app (please make this sentence stand out).

As a co-organiser or presenter you can embed the Mentimeter app following the steps below. Please see the video for an on screen walkthrough.

Adding the Mentimeter App

1. To add Mentimeter to a Teams meeting, select Apps from the meeting controls.
2. If Mentimeter does not appear automatically, use the search box to find it and then select the app.
3. The first time you use Mentimeter in Teams, you will be prompted to sign in and obtain a verification code from Mentimeter.
4. After signing in, your Mentimeter presentations and quizzes will be displayed in the panel on the right-hand side of the meeting window.
5. Search for the presentation or quiz you want to use.

Sharing the Mentimeter presentation

1. Hover over the presentation and select Share to make it available to participants.
2. Students can interact with Mentimeter activities directly within Teams and do not need a separate device, browser window or participation code.
3. Once opened, the Mentimeter app will remain pinned to the meeting toolbar for the duration of the meeting, providing quick access to your activities.

Using the Mentimeter app ongoing

1. In future meetings, you will need to add the Mentimeter app again via Apps, but you will not normally need to repeat the verification process too often.
