Overview
Mentimeter presentations can be shared in various ways depending on the following factors:
- Targetted group (e.g. audience, colleagues/editors)
- Purpose (e.g. to share the results or the resource)
- Location (e.g. if you wish to embed the resource into another tool)
In this article, we will show you the available sharing options within a Mentimeter presentation.
How to share a Mentimeter presentation
Once you have created your Mentimeter presentation, you can then share it in different ways, depending on the factors listed.
Share with students
You can share a Mentimeter presentation with your students, so that they can:
- Join the presentation and engage with the content in live sessions. This can be done by scanning a QR code, joining via a URL link or navigating to menti.com and entering the code that is automated and part of your presentation. You can show or hide this information on each slide of your presentation which we refer to as ‘instructions’ in Mentimeter.
- View the results after the presentation. This can be done by sharing a URL link with them, forwarding the results by an automated e-mail, or exporting the results yourself which you can then share with them.
Share with colleagues
You can share a Mentimeter presentation with colleagues, so that they can:
- Collaborate on a presentation. Please note, if you do this, you will work on the same presentation and any update you or they do will be visible to all collaborators. If you wish to give them access to multiple presentations, you may want to create a folder first, move the presentations to this folder and then share the folder instead of the individual presentations. This can be useful, for example, if you wish to share multiple resources with the Programme or Module Team. For more information about the setup of folders, please check the following help article.
- Collaborate on a presentation template. Please note, if you do this, you will all have a copy of the resource as a customised template and so any updates made by you or them will remain invisible to others.
- View a presentation (including the results if available) without editing permissions. This can be specifically useful if you wish to share the resource with externals who do not hold an UoP account.
Embed the presentation
You can share a Mentimeter presentation with others (including students and colleagues) through another tool which means the presentation would be embed into that system. This is called embedding a presentation. For more information, please visit the following help article.
