How to import a file into a Mentimeter presentation

Overview

Mentimeter is a cloud-based polling tool which allows you to upload files to your presentation, such as PowerPoint presentations. This can be useful if you have already created your presentation using PPT but you wish to add interactive slides or tasks to your resource. Therefore, if you use this method, you will not need to build the entire PPT resource from scratch using Mentimeter but you can simply upload your PowerPoint to the tool. This can also prevent navigating between Mentimeter and PowerPoint during live sessions.

In this article, we will show you how to import a PowerPoint presentation into Mentimeter.

Please note that we do not recommend installing the Mentimeter plugin in Microsoft PowerPoint. For more information, please visit the following supporting material.

Please only upload your PPT presentation to Mentimeter once it is finalised in PPT as the PPT slides will be embeded as static images in Mentimeter after which you can no longer edit the content of these slides in Mentimeter.

To import a file into a Mentimeter presentation, please follow the steps outlined in the following Mentimeter help article.

Please note that the maximum file size is 80 MB and the allowed slides of a presentation can not exceed 100. Please also note, the lecturer notes of a PowerPoint presentation will be lost once it has been uploaded to Mentimeter, therefore, you will need to manually copy them over to the presenter notes of the tool.

If some slides contain detailed information and you are finding the image too small, this is not going to be an issue for your audience as they can tap on the image using their device to open it up in a larger format. If they are using smartphones, they can also tilt the phone to get the image in landscape view to see it in bigger format.
