If quoted or bibliographic material is flagged as similar or matching, this information can be removed from the originality report. Students are only able to remove quoted or bibliographic material for the duration of the current view of the report. Permanent exclusion of this information must be handled by the instructor. 

By default, the Similarity Report opens in Match Overview mode. In some cases, matches to smaller areas of similarity may be obscured by larger matches and are not shown in this view mode.

Direct Source Comparison allows a user to quickly compare matching text to the source of the match in the Turnitin repositories.

Newer uploads will overwrite the original document and therefore will not 'match' against each other. 

This can often be due to both students using the same source text, and not quoting or referencing it correctly.

No. The algorithms that Turnitin uses are designed to take into account these ‘work arounds’.

Yes, the license must be agreed by all parties.

There is a course on the DLE for academics and postgraduate students, onto which you can request to be enrolled. Please contact digitaleducation@plymouth.ac.uk to request to be added.

A copy will be stored on the University's DLE. However, if the 'add to repository' setting is set to 'Standard Repository' (see picture below), there will also be a copy held on Turnitin's server.
