Excel Live allows meeting participants to view
and edit an Excel workbook together directly within a Teams meeting. This can
be useful for collaborative activities, data collection, planning exercises and
real-time analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note students must be using the Teams desktop app to be able to interact with Excel live (please make this sentence stand out).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a co-organiser or presenter you can use Excel Live following the steps below. Please see the video for an on screen walkthrough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening Excel Live<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Select Share from the meeting controls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Scroll to the Excel Live section within the sharing panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Choose a recent workbook from the list or select Browse to locate the workbook you want to share.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select the workbook to open it in Excel Live.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Sharing an Excel document in Excel Live<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. Once shared, participants can view the workbook directly within the Teams meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Depending on the workbook permissions, participants may be able to edit cells, enter data and collaborate in real time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Changes made by participants are automatically saved to the workbook and visible to everyone in the meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Use the workbook for collaborative tasks with students in the group<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Ongoing access to the shared Excel document<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. When you have finished, select Stop Sharing to close the Excel Live session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. The workbook will remain saved in OneDrive of all participants. If you no longer want students to have access after the session, you will need to remove the shared settings in OneDrive<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
