Teams meetings will be created automatically with the core online teaching settings that have specifically been developed for online teaching delivery in Teams this year. These include the automatic transfer of recordings to Panopto. This is the University recommended approach for delivering all online teaching.

Read more about timetabled online teaching sessions

Have you previously created your own Zoom links for teaching outside of the timetable?

If so, action is required now that we are using Teams. Manually created Teams meetings will not include the core online teaching settings that you will find if you use the timetabled links. For example, if you create Teams meetings manually, recordings will be immediately available to students in Teams and will not be transferred automatically to Panopto. Where possible, all online teaching sessions should be delivered through the timetable. If your sessions cannot be timetabled, please read more to understand the available options.

Read more about off-timetable online teaching sessions

Are you planning to run ad hoc teaching and learning sessions that do not need to be timetabled?

These sessions are typically created manually through Outlook or the Teams calendar and are generally more informal. They often do not require recording, or, where recordings are made, there is no need to restrict immediate student access or automatically transfer recordings to Panopto.

If this applies to you, no action is required and you can continue to create these meetings manually.

Read more about ad hoc teaching and learning sessions

This article will cover the different ways you can create Teams meetings that can be used for online teaching

[379
260,383,381
post-8560","ht_kb","type-ht_kb","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","ht_kb_category-teams","ht_kb_tag-online","ht_kb_tag-teaching","ht_kb_tag-teams
["GET
