OLP uses Moodle with similar functionalities to the DLE Moodle<\/a>, where regular programmes and modules are hosted internally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can request short course creation via the following MS Forms<\/a>, where you need to enter information, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n To gain system access, you will need to create an account, which you can complete here<\/a>. During the sign-up process, you need to enter information such as username, password, e-mail address, first and last name and optional fields, such as city\/town and country. Once the data is entered, you should receive an automated system e-mail asking you to verify yourself. After this, you can log in<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Useful information to keep in mind: Once logged in, you will be presented with menus, such as \u2018Home\u2019, \u2018Dashboard\u2019, \u2018My courses\u2019 and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The \u2018Home\u2019 page is a course catalogue, listing all the available courses that you can sign up for. You can also customise your search preferences based on subject areas\/categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you prefer a more detailed search where you can search for course titles and levels (e.g. \u2018Beginner\u2019), you can navigate to the \u2018Categories\u2019 menu (top-left corner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n On your \u2018Dashboard\u2019, you can find personal information regarding courses you are enrolled on (if applicable). This includes the course numbers, course and activity progress, analytics and more. You can also filter this information based on preferences, e.g. if you are specifically curious about a course activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Under \u2018My courses\u2019, you can view the courses you are enrolled on and filter the list similarly to our internal DLE. As such, you can access all courses or filter the list based on the time window they run – \u2018In progress\u2019, \u2018Future\u2019 and \u2018Past\u2019. You can also highlight courses via the three-dot button (\u2019Star this course\u2019) and use the \u2018Starred\u2019 list to only display the highlighted courses. Lastly, you can track your progress per course, which is based on activity completion (e.g. submission points, quizzes and more).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Under your account (top-right corner), you can navigate to your:<\/p>\n\n\n\n A course structure within OLP is similar to our internal DLE. As such, you can find three main areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The course header contains information such as course banner (image) and title, enrolled staff (e.g. \u2018Course Leader\u2019, \u2018Teachers\u2019) and students, including student number, completion rate and more. Additionally, you can utilise the menus in the secondary navigation bar (e.g. \u2018Participants\u2019, \u2018Grades\u2019, \u2018Reports\u2019, etc) the same way as via our internal DLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you want to adjust the course title or \u2018Course Leader\u2019, please contact our team for advice. For anything else (e.g. course summary and image), and manual staff\/student enrolment can be maintained by you as long as you have editing permission on the page (e.g. \u2018Teacher\u2019). On the main course page, you can populate, adjust and access the course content. This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Managing content is the same as on our internal DLE (use the \u2018Edit mode\u2019 toggle switch at the top-right corner if you want to populate or edit content).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please note, some activities\/resources available via our internal DLE may not be available on OLP, e.g. external plugins such as Panopto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The \u2018Course Menu\u2019 (left-hand side navigation bar) displays the course structure for easier navigation, the same way as our internal DLE. This includes listing sections and activities\/resources added to them. This is basically a shortcut to the main course page, as it is fed by it; therefore, any changes you make to the main course page should be automatically visible here too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students can sign up for a course by self-enrolment. This process can be fully open to everyone or can be restricted, meaning they need to enter an enrolment key\/password. As such, please ensure you share the following information with your students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n For further information on how to self-enrol in a course, please visit the following help material<\/a>. Please feel free to share this with your students for guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The course view is the same as our internal DLE, meaning students can access sections and activities\/resources added to the sections (e.g. PPT slides, glossary, submission points, quizzes, discussion boards and more). If you have a UoP account, we recommend using this e-mail address. Please note, you cannot sign up or log in using SSO (Single Sign-On), and so a manual account creation is required. If you do not have a UoP account, you can use your external\/personal e-mail address.
If you have already created an account but forgot your password, you will be able to reset it here<\/a>. For this process, you can either use your e-mail address or username. If you are unaware of this information, please contact our team for further advice.

Course summary and image can be adjusted via the \u2018Settings\u2019 menu in the secondary navigation bar. Please note, the course format is globally applied to all courses for consistency and is not customisable. Therefore, each course has the \u2018Custom sections\u2019 (topics) format.
The process of enrolling colleagues<\/a> on a course (via the \u2018Participants\u2019 menu) is the same as our internal DLE.
