Panopto can store and view 360 video files to be shared with your students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to upload 360 media to Panopto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once logged in to the\u00a0Panopto<\/a>, navigate to the folder you wish to add the content to and click on the\u00a0\u2019Create\u2019\u00a0dropdown menu, then select\u00a0\u2019Upload media\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selecting a folder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When the new page opens, select the folder you wish to upload your content to from<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the drop down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note:\u00a0<\/strong>You can navigate to the folder first, select the upload from the create drop down menu will then automatically select the folder you are currently in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selecting and uploading the 360 video to the selected folder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 360 video file must be formatted as an equirectangular *.mp4 file. once selected, drag your file into the space displayed below, the file will then begin uploading automatically. It is also possible to do multiple files at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once each file has been uploaded and processed a tick will be displayed next to the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you navigate to the folder, it will now display the content. However, you have not yet told Panopto this is a 360 video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enabling video files to playback in 360<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hovering over the video in the Panopto folder will provide the \u2018Edit\u2019 option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selecting this will take you to the \u2018Edit\u2019 screen, and select \u2018Streams\u2019 on the left hand menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will display the video stream for the Panopto video, hover over the video that you have uploaded and three dots will be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select \u2018Edit\u2019 from the three dots menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will open a window for editing the stream. Select \u2018VR Type\u2019 as \u2018360 video\u2019 in the drop down menu followed by \u2018Save\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select \u2018Apply\u2019 on the Edit page<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pop up asking to apply the changes to the video and close the editor, click \u2018Ok\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the video will now be displayed as a 360 video, and you can click and look around the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigating back to your folder will display the 360 video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
