Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please note, on some occasions the materials are shared on a Shared Content Course<\/a> which is a similar DLE page as module pages are in Moodle but it will contain an underscore \u2018X\u2019 at the end of the module code, for example, DigiEd101_X<\/strong>: Introduction to Digital Education (22\/AU\/AY\/M). Shared Content Courses can be used if multiple modules contain the same content\/materials for students and therefore to not duplicate these, there can be a center page created in Moodle. However, the assessments will always need to sit on the regular module (DLE) pages which will not contain an underscore \u2018X\u2019 at the end of the module code.

As such, you might be able to see the following setup:
DigiEd101_X<\/strong>: Introduction to Digital Education (22\/AU\/AY\/M) – this is the Shared Content Course where all materials are shared with students across multiple modules.
DigiEd101<\/strong>: Introduction to Digital Education (22\/AU\/AY\/M) – this is the regular module (DLE) page where assessments will be shared with students under the module running in Plymouth.
DigiEd101E<\/strong>: Introduction to Digital Education (22\/AU\/AY\/M) – this is the regular module (DLE) page where assessments will be shared with students under the module running in Exeter.
DigiEd101C<\/strong>: Introduction to Digital Education (22\/AU\/AY\/M) – this is the regular module (DLE) page where assessments will be shared with students under the module running in Cornwall.

As a result, please make sure students are aware of where the final exams will be located in Moodle. The Module Leaders will also send reminders about this prior to the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessing the exam as students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To access the exam as a student, they will need to follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. They will need to log into machines by using their UoP login credentials (e-mail address or username and password). If they forgot these, further instructions are shared in the \u2018Troubleshooting steps<\/a>\u2019 support material.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Once they are on the desktop, they will need to open Google Chrome from the bottom of the screen. Please note, they might see different icons here depending on what applications are installed on the machines. They can also search for the browser app by using the following search box.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. The University website should automatically open in the browser where they will need to click on the \u2018Login\u2019 button and then select \u2018Student\u2019 from the drop-down menu. If it does not load up automatically, they can then manually enter the URL link shared here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. The University Student Portal should open where they will need to click on the \u2018DLE\u2019 red tile, so they will be directed to their Moodle Dashboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. Once they are in the DLE (Moodle), they will need to open the module (DLE) page (not the Shared Content Course X DLE page) which they can do by searching for it under the ‘Course overview’ section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. Once they are on the module (DLE) page, they will need to search for a section called \u2018Exam\u2019, \u2018Examination\u2019, \u2018Assessment\u2019, or \u2018Formal Exam\u2019 where the \u2018Quiz\u2019 activity will be located. Please note, on some occasions the exam will be located in another section as its location depends on the Module Leaders\u2019 decision. Please also note, the activity will be visible 30 minutes prior to the exam and can be started at the start time of the exam; they will not be able to see the questions or complete attempts in advance<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

At the start time of the exam, students should click on the exam \u2018Quiz\u2019 activity where they will be able to see the instructions provided for them and their time limit, including students with Modified Assessment Provision (MAP) who will have personalised time limits. Students here should click on the \u2018Attempt quiz\u2019 and then on the \u2018Start attempt\u2019 button in the pop-up window to start the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Please note, if you see the \u2018Back to course\u2019 button instead of the attempt one, please make sure it is the start time of the exam and refresh the page with the \u2018F5\u2019 key on the keyboard to try again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Submitting attempts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                Please make sure student submit their attempt before they leave the room as otherwise if the activity is still open for them, they will be able to continue their attempt outside of campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                To submit an attempt as a student, they will need to follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. They will need to click on the \u2018Finish attempt…\u2019 button in the \u2018Quiz navigation\u2019 block that appears on the right side of the screen which brings them to an overview page where they can review their answers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  1. They can always return to their attempt from here if they wish to modify their answers, however, if they wish to submit their attempt (after which they will no longer be able to adjust their responses), they will need to click on the \u2018Submit all and finish\u2019 button twice as there will be a confirmation message displayed on their screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                    1. Once they have submitted their attempt to the \u2018Quiz\u2019 activity, please make sure they close down the browser and then log out from the machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
