Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is an online \u2018Module Box<\/a>\u2019 block on the right-hand side of every Moodle course. The purpose of this block is to provide an easy and familiar way to deliver all module materials to you as an External Examiner, from one location within the DLE (Moodle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can also include sharing student attempts of a \u2018Quiz\u2019 activity<\/a> in Moodle, to help them get a better understanding of the summative assessments, such as in-class tests or formal exams. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, we will show you how to access student attempts of a \u2018Quiz\u2019 activity in Moodle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note, if you are unable to access the shared links through the Module Boxes, that is most likely down to enrolment issues. We recommend liaising with your contact at the University. They will need to enroll you with an \u2018External Examiner\u2019 role using the guide from the following supporting material<\/a>.

If you are sure you are enrolled correctly but you are still unable to view the links, it is likely that they have not been shared yet in the Module Box. In this case, please also liaise with your contact at the University.

On some occasions, the materials will be located on the main module\/DLE page. In this case, please read the following supporting material<\/a>.

If you cannot access the DLE using your UoP account due to password or username issues, please speak with your contact at the University who will then need to raise this with the main IT Service Desk<\/a> or will ask you to do so. They can be contacted over the phone (01752\/588-588) or via the \u2018IT Self Service\u2019 application which is by default installed on every working computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to access student attempts of a Moodle Quiz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you navigated to the Module Box, you might see URL links that would direct you to student attempts uploaded to a Moodle Quiz. As such, you will need to get familiar with four different pages, depending on whether the achieved grades, student responses, statistics or the manual grading process has been shared with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some cases, the dashboard of the quiz might be shared with you for preview. Alternatively, you can check all four pages listed above in more detail by clicking on the ‘Results’ button and then selecting the relevant option from the ‘Grades’ drop-down list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To know exactly what to look at under the activity, please liaise with your contact at the University. They should clarify which information will be essential for you, such as where to search for grades, responses, statistics, and so on. If they share grades or responses with you (which would contain all student attempts), then they will also need to provide a few names of the student attempts you need to look at. You can either scroll through the list of attempts to search for these students or use the filters at the top based on the initials of the first and surnames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Grades\u2019 page of a Quiz contains all student attempts and shows the points achieved under each individual question, including the final and average grades in Moodle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
