There are a couple of reasons why your module\/course\/programme is not showing\/being visible in Moodle. We will demonstrate the process with modules, but please note that the same rules would apply for programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Shared Content Courses<\/a> and Subject View Courses<\/a>, please look at the last section \u2018Error in Moodle<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Error in UNIT-e<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the reasons could be that by accident the module has not been created in UNIT-e. UNIT-e and Moodle<\/a> are connected to each other, therefore, a lot of processes are automatically done in the background between these two tools. This also includes the creation of new modules running under different programmes, therefore, if you do not see your module in the DLE once you search for it in the \u2018Site home\u2019 which can be found in the left-hand navigation, then you would need to contact the Faculty\/School Office or your Program Admin who will then take actions accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once there is a placeholder for your module in UNIT-e, the next day you would be able to see relevant DLE site for it as this automatic update happens overnight between these tools. Please note that this process can take up to 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Error in enrolment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The other reason could be that although the module has been created for you within UNIT-e and it is also visible in Moodle, you may not have been enrolled on it yet. Please note that Digital Education is not allowed to manually enrol staff or students. The below headings outline the different enrolment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Module Leader role<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to be enrolled as the \u2018Module Leader\u2019 on a DLE site, then you would need to contact the Faculty\/School Office or your Program Admin who can then take actions accordingly as this process also goes through UNIT-e from where the information gets automatically transferred over to the DLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you are enrolled on the relevant module in UNIT-e, the next day you would be able to access and edit the DLE site as needed as this automatic update happens overnight between these tools. Please note that this process can take up to 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teacher role<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to be enrolled with a \u2018Teacher\u2019 role, then you would need to contact your colleagues who are enrolled on the DLE site as a \u2018Teacher\u2019 or as the \u2018Module Leader\u2019 who can then add you to the module with the needed permissions<\/a>. If the \u2018Participants\u2019 menu is completely empty, therefore, no one has access to the module, then please contact the Faculty\/School Office who can then take actions accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the Faculty\/School Office did not get back to you after a couple of days, nor any of your colleagues are available for a longer period of time (for example, because they left the University) and you need to access and edit the DLE site urgently, then please contact the Service Desk (TIS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Error in Moodle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The third reason could be that there is a technical issue within Moodle, such as the module or the programme has been created for you within UNIT-e, however, you cannot seem to find it in the DLE. In this case, you would need to raise a ticket with the Service Desk (TIS)<\/a> who can take actions accordingly once they have investigated the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There might be occasions when you had a Shared Content Course<\/a> or a Subject View Course<\/a> in Moodle that was running the last academic year which you would continue using this academic year, however, you cannot seem to find it in the DLE once you search for it. In this case, we would again recommend contacting the Service Desk (TIS) as their department creates these DLE sites for the academic staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can either contact them over the phone (01752 588588) or use the \u2018IT Self Service<\/a>\u2019 application that is on the desktop of each university issued machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
