{"id":4420,"date":"2022-11-07T11:57:48","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T10:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=4420"},"modified":"2025-09-05T10:23:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T09:23:48","slug":"why-can-i-not-share-my-mentimeter-presentation-with-other-staff-members","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/why-can-i-not-share-my-mentimeter-presentation-with-other-staff-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Why can I not share my Mentimeter presentation with other staff members?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to <a href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/how-to-share-a-mentimeter-presentation\/#participation\">student participation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/what-is-mentimeter\/\">Mentimeter<\/a> presentations can be also shared with other staff members for <a href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/how-to-share-a-mentimeter-presentation\/#invite-collaborators\">collaboration purposes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you might encounter an issue where, after entering a colleague\u2019s e-mail address, the permission level cannot be switched to \u2018Edit\u2019 and is limited to \u2018Comment\u2019 or \u2018View\u2019. This means they would not be able to edit the content, only leave comments or view it in read-only mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In such cases, you might also see the following warning message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018Collaborators must be in your workspace: If you\u2019d like to invite new collaborators, they need to join your workspace first. They may be using their UoP account for Mentimeter access, but if it has not been upgraded to a PRO licence (and is still on the free version), the system will not recognise them as a member of the UoP workspace (this is what the warning message is related to).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To resolve the issue, please ask your colleague to access Mentimeter via the DLE to automatically upgrade their account to a PRO licence, which is free for all staff members. Detailed instructions can be found in the following <a href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/accessing-mentimeter\/\">supporting material<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ensure you use the correct method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, when sharing a presentation with a colleague, you could simply start typing their name or email address, and their account would appear in the suggestion box. Please note that this feature is no longer available in Mentimeter. Their account may not appear in the suggestion box (only members of our team will), but if the email address is entered correctly, Mentimeter will still send them an automated email notifying them of the share and the level of access you have granted (e.g. collaboration, comment or view-only).
