The purpose of this block is to provide an easy and familiar way to deliver all module materials for staff and External Examiners, all from one location within the DLE (Moodle). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Module Box can contain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>module handbooks, guides, and action plans;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>student sample work as files or as <a href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/linking-turnitin-feedback-to-module-boxes-in-moodle\/\">links to the grading table\/grading page<\/a> (which will be stored for 7 years);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>feedback on student paperwork;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>student results on \u2018Quiz\u2019 activities,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"288\" height=\"163\" src=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/dev-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Module-Box.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of the display of the \u2018Module Box\u2019 block (highlighted) within a DLE page\/course.\" class=\"wp-image-5935\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Module-Box.png 288w, https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Module-Box-50x28.png 50w, https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Module-Box-60x34.png 60w, https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Module-Box-100x57.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 288px) 100vw, 288px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Module Boxes are also secure by default and only visible to those with \u2018Teacher\u2019, \u2018Non-Editing Teacher\u2019, \u2018External Examiner\u2019, or \u2018Faculty support\u2019 roles. Students will not be able to access these, as they are hidden from them. If you are unable to access the Module Box, and unsure you have the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/#the-roles\" target=\"_blank\">correct role<\/a>, please liaise with your contact at the University if it has to be <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/#overview\" target=\"_blank\">adjusted<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">Please note, you will need to have a UoP e-mail address to be able to access Moodle. External account\/e-mail addresses cannot be used for this purpose. If you do not have a UoP account, please speak with your contact at the University who will then raise this with the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.ac.uk\/about-us\/university-structure\/service-areas\/it-services\" target=\"_blank\">main IT Service Desk<\/a>, or will ask you to do so. They can be contacted over the phone (01752\/588-588) or via the \u2018IT Self Service\u2019 application (which is by default installed on every working computer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">Once your External Examiners have UoP accounts, they will also need to be enrolled in your module to access the Module Box block. You will also need to enter a useful name for it. This name is what it will appear as in the Module Box block. If they do not appear on the list, then they would need to be enrolled in the module. To do this, please visit the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/\" target=\"_blank\">following supporting material<\/a>. The role you will need to provide for them is named \u2018External Examiner\u2019.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Can the External Examiners see\/access the DLE page\/module but not the Module Box?<\/td><td>If the External Examiners can access the DLE page\/module but not the Module Box, then most likely it is due to enrolment issues. As such, if your External Examiners have not been added to the module, they will still be able to see\/access the content in \u2018read-only\u2019 view. In this case, they can access most of the materials, but not the \u2018Assignment\u2019, \u2018Quiz\u2019, or \u2018Forum\u2019 activities, nor the Module Box. To resolve the issue, you will need to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/\" target=\"_blank\">enroll them with the \u2018External Examiner\u2019 role<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Do the External Examiner use their UoP e-mail address and password when they are trying to log into the DLE (Moodle)?<\/td><td>Sometimes External Examiners may accidentally use their home institution&#8217;s email address.
