{"id":1832,"date":"2021-06-17T09:57:26","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T08:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=1832"},"modified":"2026-02-27T10:27:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:27:41","slug":"signing-up-to-the-open-learning-platform","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/signing-up-to-the-open-learning-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Signing up to the Open Learning platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Open Learning platform is completely separate from the University&#8217;s DLE, and therefore to gain access learners and tutors are required to <a href=\"https:\/\/open.plymouth.ac.uk\/login\/signup.php\">sign up<\/a> (including users from the University of Plymouth).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/open.plymouth.ac.uk\/login\/signup.php\">Sign up now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the online sign up form, you will be sent a verification email before you can access the platform, this step must be taken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">Occasionally, we have noticed that these verification emails have gone into users junk or spam folders, therefore it is important to check these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signposting your learners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a Course Leader or Teacher with a defined or targeted group of learners, you may wish to provide them with some information: including a URL to the sign up form, the direct URL to your course and perhaps the enrolment key, if there is one. Therefore we have created a template which you can download and amend to your needs.
