The purpose of this block is to provide an easy and familiar way to deliver all module materials to you as an External Examiner, from one location within the DLE (Moodle). A Module Box can contain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>module handbooks, guides, and action plans;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>student sample work;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>feedback on student paperwork;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>student results on \u2018Quiz\u2019 activities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For information about what will be shared with you in the block, please liaise with your contact at the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Module Boxes are also secure by default and only visible to those with \u2018Teacher\u2019, \u2018Non-Editing Teacher\u2019, \u2018External Examiner\u2019, or \u2018Faculty support\u2019 roles. Students will not be able to access these, as they are hidden from them. If you are unable to access the Module Box, and unsure you have the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/#the-roles\" target=\"_blank\">correct role<\/a>, please liaise with your contact at the University if it has to be <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/#overview\" target=\"_blank\">adjusted<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to access the Module Box as an External Examiner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">Please note, you will need to have a UoP e-mail address to be able to access Moodle. External account\/e-mail addresses cannot be used for this purpose. If you do not have a UoP account, please speak with your contact at the University who will then raise this with the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.ac.uk\/about-us\/university-structure\/service-areas\/it-services\" target=\"_blank\">main IT Service Desk<\/a>, or will ask you to do so. <br><br>They can be contacted over the phone (01752\/588588) or via the \u2018IT Self Service\u2019 application (which is by default installed on every working computer). If you have already received your UoP account, but are unable to log into the system due to password or username\/e-mail address issues, then please contact them as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After activating your UoP account, you will then need to log into Moodle. To do this, please navigate to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">UoP website<\/a>, click on the \u2018Login\u2019 button that appears at the top-right corner and then select \u2018Staff\u2019 from the pop-up drop-down list. Click on the title of the module which appears under the \u2018My courses\u2019 menu in the left-hand navigation bar. It also might appear in the \u2018Recently accessed courses\u2019 or \u2018Course overview\u2019 sections if you have previously accessed it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">If you cannot see the module you need to navigate to anywhere on your Moodle dashboard, please speak with your contact at the University as <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/adding-a-teacher-faculty-support-or-external-examiner-to-your-course-in-moodle\/\" target=\"_blank\">you might not yet be enrolled in it as an External Examiner<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once on the DLE page\/module, you should then be able to see the Module Box on the right side of your screen. If you are unable access the needed material, please liaise with your contact at the University.<br><br>On some occasions, the materials will be located on the main module\/DLE page instead of the Module Box. In this case, please read the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/how-to-access-materials-outside-of-the-module-box-as-an-external-examiner\/\" target=\"_blank\">following supporting material.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Module Box, you could see the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Files <\/strong>&#8211; files uploaded to the block could include Word documents, PDFs, ZIP files, PowerPoint presentations,.. You would need to click on the titles of the files to download them to your device, for later access. For example, you might see links to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digi-ed.uk\/support\/article\/how-to-access-student-submissions-and-moodle-or-turnitin-feedback-as-an-external-examiner\/\" target=\"_blank\">sample submissions or feedback templates<\/a> within a submission point (\u2019Assignment\u2019 activity) where students uploaded their work previously to be assessed.
